The Reston-Herndon Area Branch, founded in 1969, is a vibrant group of women and men balancing leadership of our mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research with activities that are educational, engaging and fun. In addition to National opportunities offered to all AAUW members, branch members enjoy networking at the local level, serving in local and state leadership roles, sponsoring community action projects, and lobbying on AAUW priority issues. If you enjoy this level of activism and engagement, then branch membership is the right choice for you! We meet often and participate in programs related to our mission of supporting girls and women on issues ranging from pay equity to gender equality to Title IX protections, as well as advocacy on women’s health and educational concerns. We also enjoy many opportunities to participate in branch-sponsored activities, social events and cultural outings in Northern Virginia and the DC metropolitan area.

You are invited to join AAUW (national, state, and local branch) by sending a check for $102.00, made payable to AAUW Reston-Herndon, to the Branch Treasurer

NATIONAL DUES INCREASE
At its October 16, 2020, meeting, the AAUW Board of Directors voted to increase Individual member dues each year for three years, so dues will rise again for FY 2024 to $72; state and branch dues stay the same. [Remember: All but $3 of your annual dues remain tax deductible.]
Beginning July 1, 2023, (FY24), total membership dues for the Reston-Herndon Area Branch is $102 per member.
Membership dues are dedicated as follows:
National
July 1, 2023 (FY24) = $ 72.00
State
July 1, 2023 (FY24) = $ 15.00
Branch
July 1, 2023 (FY24) = $ 15.00

HOW TO RENEW YOUR MEMBERSHIP
JULY 1, 2023 through JUNE 30, 2024
Renew directly online:
– Go to the aauw.org website and log in to enter your account in the Community Hub.
– Scroll down, and click on the blue RENEW button.
– Go through the steps to confirm/edit your AAUW information (several pages).
– Renew your membership by credit card.
